♥ The Winding Lane ♥

Down the winding country lane
There's a soft and gentle breeze;
The perfume from the hedgerows
Comes drifting through the trees.
...................................................*ღ*
Birds sing sweet melodies
Bringing calmness to my mind;
My grief is slowly healing;
My sorrows left behind.
...................................................*ღ*
This lane is very special
I walk here every day,
Holding on to memories
Of times now far away.
...................................................*ღ*
For here I find the peace
God promised from the start;
It's found in His creation
To heal each broken heart.

The path toward healing
is paved with many tears
through it all with faith
you'll overcome your fears

The rainbow bridge is paved
with love and a gentle hand
to lead the sweet, the innocent
to his quiet and peaceful land

Land where pain is non-existent
and life is pleasant and free
they'll run and play forever
and at peace, they'll always be

Rainbow
by Graham & Marion Newcombe-Withers

The sun is shining,
Rain is falling too,
Then suddenly colours appear,
A rainbow comes into view.
It's archway of many colours,
Is spirits healing ray,
And also the doorway to heaven,
Where spirits of animals play.
So when you see a rainbow,
Be happy and not sad,
Just think of all the fun and happiness,
You and your best friend had.

Angel Of Christmas Cheer

I hear a flutter in the breeze
There is snow upon the ground
All the leaves have fallen
Not a single one to be found.

So it makes me ponder
On this lovely winter day
Could it be an angel?
In the snow at play?

I go ahead and build my snowman
I work with cheerful hands
Carrot nose and button eyes
To make him look so grand.

I think I hear a little giggle
A flutter in the breeze
I look up to see, who might be here
But it's, just my snowman and me.

With all this Yule time cheer
On my face I have a smile
Soon we will be singing songs
As we gather around the fire.

It's nearly time to go in
I'll soon be snug in bed
As I dream of sugar plums
Dancing in my head.

Now it's Christmas Morning
We gather around the tree
I look out the frost window
My eyes just can't believe!

A beautiful smile on my snowman
My hands could have never achieved
I walked the same snow prints
That I had made that very night.

Only one going to it, one coming back
As I look at the snowy base
I see a folded note;
Looking so mystified

With wonder on my face,
As I read the words
This is what it said,
"I enjoyed the wonderful evening
Seeing the joy your heart does hold,
But, there is more to this message
To you, that must be told.
Always remember...

The reason for this season
The night that Christ was born
All those that gathered
In the manger long ago.

Always remember His love and giving ways
Then you can have Christmas, every single day
And if you don't mind...
I would love to come next year

At the bottom was signed,
"Your Angel of Christmas Cheer"

One Little Candle
By Carol Dunn

It’s just one little candle
One tiny flickering light
A challenge to the darkness
A small beacon in the night.
It could be just a gentle touch
A reminder that you’re there
Or a warm, compassionate hug
That shows you understand and care.
Sometimes it only takes your smile
To encourage and uplift
And should that smile lead to laughter
You’ve shared a special gift.
There’s comfort in shared silence
Or in a softly spoken word
Or in taking time to listen
To feelings that must be heard.
Yes, it’s just one little candle
Softly glowing in the night
But it can overcome the darkness
If it will only share it’s light.
Just one candle at a time
Each one giving from its heart
Reaching out to those nearby
Asking them to do their part.
To make sure the light keeps growing
Reaching out to those in sorrow
Offering comfort, warmth and hope
Strength and courage for tomorrow.

♥ Do not judge a song by its duration

♥ Judge it by the way it touches and lifts the soul
♥ Sometimes those unfinished are among the most beautiful…
♥ And when something has enriched your life
♥ And when it’s melody lingers on in your heart.
♥ Is it unfinished?
♥ Or is it endless?

A Poem of Hope

One song can spark a moment,
One flower can wake the dream.
One tree can start a forest,
One bird can herald spring.
One smile begins a friendship,
One handclasp lifts a soul.
One star can guide a ship at sea,
One word can frame the goal.
One vote can change a nation,
One sunbeam lights a room,
One candle wipes out darkness,
One laugh will conquer gloom.
One step must start each journey,
One word must start each prayer.
One hope will raise our spirits,
One touch can show you care.
One voice can speak with wisdom,
One heart can know what’s true.
One life can make the difference.
You see, it’s up to YOU!

♥ FOR ALL OUR FURRY AND FEATHERED FRIENDS ♥ GONE TOO SOON ♥

The author of this beautiful poem wrote it for about the loss of her dear doggy friend, Skeeter. I think the words are so beautifully put and know that we can all relate to this passage in some way.

Love to you and your beautiful angel this Christmas and all year round, Mel. xxxxx

No flags were flown at half mast
when my little baby died;
no limousine to carry her home
no crowds of mourners cried.

But the world for me stopped turning,
my heart is filled with pain
my tears could fill an ocean
I want to see her again.

I want to say I'm sorry
to feel her lick my face,
I want to hold her close to me
and always keep her safe.

I wonder how to end this hurt,
to ease my troubled soul,
I wonder how I can go on
without her I'm not whole.

And so I pray to God above
to take care of my child,
say thanks that she was here
if only for awhile.

And I will love another,
though she'll always be a part
of everything that's good and kind,
she will always have my heart.

I know that she is happy,
She is running in fields of gold,
and though I know she misses me
she'll someday be mine to hold.

So sleep my little baby,
your spirit now is free,
sleep my little baby,
you're still a part of me.

*** Take Time to Heal Now *** (by Teresa Wagner) ***

~~♥~~♥~~♥~~♥~~♥~~♥~~♥~~♥~~♥~~♥~~♥~~♥
Dying is the easier role
Returning Home to God, the angels
The spirit world of peace and love.
Our animal loved ones are there now
safe, whole, loved and ever loving.
It is in staying behind
on earth feeling alone
without the animals we love so dearly
that is the harder role.
The anguish of it comes unbidden,
when least expected,
seemingly unending, inescapable,
dark hours of pain.
Yet relief from pain
and healing and growth are possible too
Nourishment and support
are all around
in people, the animals, the sun, the rivers
in forests, in flowers, in books, in tapes,
in pictures, in song, from angels, from God
and the strength and wisdom
of our own souls.
We must only open our hearts
to the love waiting to help us heal.
Pouring our love and care and nurturing
onto our animals must shift now,
to loving and caring
and nurturing ourselves.
It is time for us now.
As one who has loved
so completely
so fully
You are just as important as the one who has died.
You do not dishonor your loved one
or their memory
by taking care of yourself.
Take time to heal now.
Make choices to grow now.
Love yourself as you love your animal.
Love yourself as your animal loves you.

A NEW STAR
(Author Unknown)

I see a brighter star tonight
As I look at the sky;
It glistens in a teardrop
As it drifts upon a sigh.

A little light all filled with soul,
A speck so like the rest;
But to me it's brighter than the moon,
Above all, it's the best.

A part of earth for just awhile.
The heavens are its home;
Here it was confined as life,
There it's free to roam.

A little gem to crown the sky,
A jewel for all to see;
Its sparkle is for all mankind,
Its memory, just for me.

ONENESS

The moment I die,
I will try to come back to you
as quickly as possible.
I promise it will not take long.
Isn't it true
I am already with you,
As I die each moment
I come back to you in every moment.
Just look,
Feel my presence.
If you want to cry,
Please cry.
And know that I will cry with you.
The tears you shed
Will heal us both.
Your tears are mine.
The earth I tread this morning
Transcends history.
Spring and Winter are both present in the moment.
The young leaf and the dead leaf are really one.
My feet touch deathlessness,
And my feet are yours. Walk with me now.
Let us enter the dimension of oneness
And see the cherry tree blossom in Winter.
Why should we talk about death
I don't need to die
To be back with you.
